John A. Zukowski, age 92, of Ft. Wayne, Indiana died July 4th, 2020. Born in Lynn he was the son of the late John and Felicia (Jurkowska) Zukowski and the loving husband of the late Lorraine M. (Deschamps) Zukowski before her passing they shared 33 years of marriage.
After graduating from Classical High School in 1945 he was a veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict serving in the Coast Guard and United States Navy. A graduate of Wentworth University he went on to obtain a BS degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University.
John worked for several decades at various General Electric (GE) plants in Manufacturing and Quality Control, while advancing to Plant Manager, before retiring as a Senior Executive. After GE he went to work for and retired from United Technologies. He then co-founded and operated SCP Ltd manufactures in Auburn, IN until 2005, where he finally concluded his working years. In his spare time, John volunteered at various Food Bank's and Kitchen's, which he enjoyed. He was a member of the American Legion and Knights of Columbus. “Mr. Z” enjoyed fishing, golfing, and anything outdoors. John also enjoyed the privileges of having his Private Pilot License.
He is survived by his son John A. Zukowski, Jr., his sister Leona Ployer, 2 nephews and a niece.
