Barbara A. Sherys

September 27, 1935 ~ April 26, 2018 (age 82)

Barbara A. Sherys, 82, of Lynn passed away on April 26, 2018. Barbara was born on September 27, 1935 the daughter of Stanley and Alice Sherys. She graduated from Lynn Classical High School and Essex School of Practical Nursing. She worked as a charge nurse at the former Louise Caroline Nursing home in Saugus, now Saugus Care and Rehabilitation Center, for 25 years before recently retiring. Barbara loved her time growing up on her grandmother's farm in Ipswich. She was committed to her job and caring for her patients and had an enormous heart for helping others in need. Barbara doted on her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with her family and teaching them how to cook. She especially loved her 3 pound baked stuffed lobster on her birthdays. Barbara was the devoted mother of Chester Szczawinski Jr, and Kevin Szczawinski of Lynn, Sherry Julien and her husband Robert Julien of Salem. Sister of the late Stanley Sherys and Jospeh Sherys. Cherished "Bachi" of Melissa McKinley and her fiance Eric Rackett, Bryanna Bettinger, and Henry Julien. Relatives and friends are invited to attend Barbara’s Funeral Service on Monday, April 30 at 11a.m. at the Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave., Lynn, MA 01905, followed by burial at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be at the funeral home on Sunday, April 29 from 2-6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Massachusetts General Hospital Cancer Center, 55 Fruit St., Boston, MA 02114, or Care Dimensions Kaplan Family House, 75 Sylvan St., Danvers, MA 01923.
