Obituary

Louis A. DeRosa, 89 of Lynn, formerly of Dorchester, beloved husband of 56 years to Bernadine (Stanley) DeRosa died June 1st at the Kalan Family Hospice in Danvers. Born in Boston he was the son of the late Ralph and Frances (Scianna) DeRosa. Louis was a former member of St. Michael’s Parish and an eucharistic minister, lector at St. Mary’s of Lynn and was a CCD teacher, lector, eucharistic minister and choir member at St. Joseph’s Church.

Early on Louis was very musical, he loved playing violin and guitar. He enjoyed cars and was an avid reader. Louis worked for many different companies as a salesperson, but his favorite was working at Beacon Musical Instrument Co.

Louis was always the point person that friends and family would turn, to help them solve problems. He loved helping people. Bernadine describes her husband as a very detailed person, always wanting things to be right. She reports that her husband’s Roman Catholic faith and prayer is most important to him. Father Paul McManus has been a family friend for many years and consider him a huge blessing in their lives.

In addition to his wife, Louis is survived by his brothers Ralph DeRosa of Revere and Michael DeRosa of Hyde Park, Mary Kisich of Somerville and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings Antoinette Butcher, Rosalie DeRosa and John DeRosa.

We will be following rules set out by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, City of Lynn and the Archdiocese of Boston regarding social distancing due to Covid-19 crisis. Visitation will be held in the NADWORNY Funeral Home 798 Western Ave., Lynn, on Friday from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM. Followed by his Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church, Lynn at 11:00 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn.
