Karen E. (Connor) Delfuoco

September 14, 1953 ~ May 6, 2020 (age 66)

Karen (Kee to her family) Conner-Delfuoco ended her journey on this earth on May 6th at Kaplan House in Danvers, Ma., with her husband and friend by her side after a battle with a brief illness. She was a warrior to the very end.

Karen was born on September 14, 1953 to Catherine and George Conner in Lynn, Ma. She attended St. Pius V and St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Ma. and studied at Chamberlain Junior College. She then started her career in Medical Records at Union Hospital. She retired from the Hospital after 27 years as a supervisor in Medical Records Department.

After finishing her career at the Hospital she pursued her true love of caring for, riding and training horses. Over the years she both owned and worked with many horses owned by others. She always said how lucky she was to get paid for doing something she truly loved. If there was a horse that needed to be ridden Kee was there. Kee’s other love was her girls how she referred to her 2 dogs Holly and Mia. From an early age Karen always had dogs in her life. She use to joke that she wasn’t much of a people person but she sure did love her animals. Karen’s life was always joyfully filled with animals right up until the end walking her girls everyday and riding and grooming Noah with her friend Cazzy.

Karen had a few other things she loved , dancing, traveling and the New England Patriots. She was able to travel a great deal with her sisters and husband and although she visited many places  her favorite was always the annual trip, to Sanibel Island, Fl. She was grateful to be able to attend many Patriot games and no one cheered louder then she did for her New England Patriots. There was no better dancer then Kee when she was listening to her favorite songs like Key Largo!

Karen faced the end of her life as she lived her life for the past 19 years One Day at a Time seeing each day as a gift to be enjoyed and to be grateful for. She was a devoted and grateful member of the recovering community and considered her fellowship as life saving for her.

Karen leaves her loving husband of 35 years Billy Delfuoco, her 2 sisters Kathleen Hildebrand of Beverly, Ma. and Patricia Conner and her life partner Ruth Ann Fatscher of York, Maine. She leaves her nephew Todd Hildebrand and his wife Kimberly from Manchester , NH and her great nephew Conner James Hildebrand. Others who loved her and will miss her are her sister in law Carolyn Cormier and her husband Bob and her niece Michelle Tallman and her husband Jay and their son Parker.

As Kee said the other day “ Don’t Cry because it is over smile because it happened” we celebrate the grateful and loving life she shared with all of us.

Somewhere over the rainbow way up high Kee is now in the loving arms of her Higher Power and reunited with her loved ones and her girls. She will be greatly missed by those of us who love her dearly.
