Antoni K. Cisto, 91, died May 20, 2020, at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in Burlington after a brief illness. He was the son of the late Antoni Cisto and Stanislawa (Zakrzewski) (Cisto) Bechamp. Born in St. Denis, France, he also lived in Belgium and Sudbury, Ontario before settling in Lynn for the past 63 years. He was married to his beloved wife Christine (Kowalczyk) Cisto for 64 years, with whom he would dance the polka better than anyone on the dance floor. Before his retirement, he was employed at the General Electric Turbine Division for 20 years. He was a former communicant of St. Michael’s Parish in Lynn, where he was a member of the St. Michael’s Polish Club. In addition to his wife Christine, he is survived by his children: Richard Cisto and his wife Laurie of Oxford, CT, Diane Cisto of Wilmington, MA, Debra George and her husband Gary of Peabody, MA; as well as his grandchildren: Katie Cisto, Matthew Cisto and his wife Ali, Rachael Cisto, Lauren Breslin, Kimberly Breslin, Sarah Benham, Anthony Benham, Emily George, Alicia George; one great grandchild, Roman Palmisano; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Terese Benham, his grandsons Nicholas Cisto and Patrick Benham, and his brother Richard Cisto. He had a life-long love of cycling which began in Europe, where he raced competitively. He was fluent in several languages: English, French, Polish, and Walloon. He frequently entertained his grandchildren with stories of his early life in Europe and Canada. Antoni’s life was defined by his love for his wife and family, his work ethic, his green thumb, his incredible, deeply-melodic singing voice, his jokes and laughter, and his occasional indulgence in the most delicious sweets, especially anything baked by his wife. He is loved and will be greatly missed. Adhering to the Guidelines of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the CDC Graveside Funeral Services will be private and burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery on Friday.
