Ronald Bennett

March 22, 1937 ~ March 3, 2018 (age 80)

Ronald Bennett, 80, of Lynn died March 3, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, son of the late Jack A. and Hazel H. (Hegan) Bennett. Born, raised and educated in Lynn a graduate of Lynn English High School and he continued his education at Calvin Coolidge College and received his Master’s Degree from Boston University. A lifelong Lynn resident, Ron attended services at St. Stephen’s Church and longtime Physical education teacher and head coach for Lynn English High School Baseball and Basketball and amassed 700 victories. As a student, an athlete, a coach and physical education teacher his career spanned over 40 years. Ron was inducted into the Lynn English Hall of Fame in 2013. Ron was an active member of the Meadowlarks a group of friends from the Meadows in the Highland’s area who gathered together annually for the past 50 years to reminisce on the old days. A hard working man who dedicated his life to Lynn sports and to the Lynn schools, a devoted brother, uncle and friend who will be deeply missed. Ronald is survived by his brother Norman R. Bennett and his wife Joan of Danvers, his nephew Ronald Bennett and his wife Joanne, his three nieces Kathleen Hutchinson, Susan Bennett, Kimberly Whitman and her husband Steven, sister in law Patricia Bennett and several great nieces and nephews. He will be fondly missed by his dog Champ. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral service at the Nadworny Funeral Home 798 Western Ave., Lynn on Wednesday March 7, at 11:00 AM.
