Our Mother Barbara M. (Roy) Nadworny

June 2, 1929 ~ August 3, 2019 (age 90)

Barbara M. Nadworny (Roy), age 90, died peacefully August 3rd while surrounded by her family at Mass General Hospital. Born in Lynn, she was the wife of Richard C. Nadworny with whom she shared 64 years of marriage, and the daughter of the late Lucien and Marie (Fratus) Roy. Barbara was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School Class of 1947. Before her marriage, Barbara was employed by the former Star Sportswear Company as a secretary. After her children were grown, she was employed by the Lynn School Department working at Lynn Technical High School. She was also employed as a secretary at the General Electric Company in the benefits office until her retirement at age of 62. Barbara was a devout catholic and communicant, a member of the former St. Michael’s Church, the Holy Rosary Sodality, St. Hedwigs Society, St. Michael’s PNA Lodge 630, the Polish Legion of American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary Chapter 56, a member of Ward 6 Democratic City Committee and a recent communicant of St. Mary’s Church. Upon her retirement from the General Electric Company, Barbara was a dedicated partner to her husband’s funeral home business greeting families, setting up flowers, or being a compassionate shoulder to lean on. Barbara helped make the funeral home a comforting place to be. In addition to her husband, Barbara is survived by her four children; William J. Nadworny, Richard C. Nadworny Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Boxford, Maura J. Falangas and her husband Stratis and Paula A. O’Connell and her husband Michael all of Nashua, NH, her nine grandchildren, Lauren Ogar, Andrea Falangas and her fiancé Kevin Kaylor, Kristin Orlich and her husband Chris, Anthony Falangas, Danielle Philipp and her husband Drew, Erin O’Connell, Michael O’Connell Jr., Patrick and Matthew Nadworny, and three great-grandchildren Liam Philipp and Dylan and Jace Orlich, her sister Lorraine LaFleur and her husband Robert and her god-child Cindy Matvichuk all of Middleton and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her brothers Richard Roy and Lucien Roy Jr. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral from the Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Avenue, Lynn Friday at 9:30AM followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary’s Church at 11:00AM. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday from 4PM-8PM.
