Clara B. (Bejtlich) Zamejtis, Age 96, of Lynn died at the Kaplan Family Hospice House Wednesday, February 1st 2017, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of Chester and Salomea (Bochniak) Bejtlich and the wife of the late Joseph M. Zamejtis. She was a graduate of St. Michael’s Grammar School, Lynn Classical High, and Bentley College. Clara was a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during WWII. She was a former member of St. Michael’s Church. She was employed as a Police Woman for 27 years for the Lynn Police Dept. and member of Lynn Police Patrolman’s Union. Clara was a life member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans Post 56, its Auxiliary, and was honored in 1985 as Veteran of the Year. She was a member of St. Hedwig’s Sodality, Holy Rosary Sodality, St. Michael’s Polish National Alliance Lodge 630 and its Retirees, and a Life Member of the Girl Scouts of America for over 50 years. Clara crocheted over 2,000 baby blankets and hat sets, donating them to the Salem Hospital Maternity Unit. Clara wanted to ensure that no babies left the hospital unless they were warm and wearing hats. She is survived by her son, Edmund J. Zamejtis, and his wife, Sheila, of Nahant; two daughters, Sally Zamejtis-Brown of Lynn and Gail Hyde of Nahant; loving grandchildren: Edmund Zamejtis Jr.; Andrea Sears and her husband Nathaniel; Katie Kass and her husband Michael; Christopher Hyde and his wife Erin; Matthew Zamejtis-Brown and his wife Katie; Jonathan Zamejtis-Brown and his wife Minah; and her seven great grandchildren: Joseph, Krysta, Tabitha, Meghan, Owen, Madison, and Finn. Visiting hours will be from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday, February 5th at the Nadworny Funeral Home 798 Western Avenue, Lynn ( organizations will meet at 3:00PM). Relatives and Friends are invited to attend the funeral Monday, February 6th from Nadworny Funeral Home at 10am, travel to St. Mary’s Church, 8 S. Common St, Lynn for 11am Mass of Christian burial. Interment following at WWII Lot, Pine Grove Cemetery.
